Carol Banta Walker Receives Honorary Degree

Carol Banta Walker Receives Honorary Degree

Carol Banta Walker receives an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree at the service of commencement for Eden Seminary held May 18 at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown St. Louis.

Incredible community leader and former Eden Student, Carol Banta Walker has served in numerous church positions including Director of Christian Education at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ladue and the Vestry and Outreach Committee of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church. She has served faithfully on the board of many area non-profit organizations including the Opera Theatre of St. Louis and the St. Louis Regional Arts Council.  She is especially noted for her current role, serving as the board chair for Grace Hill Settlement House; an organization established by the Episcopal Diocese and Holy Cross Church in 1903 to provide services to immigrant populations. She served together with her husband, Ambassador George H. Walker, III,  as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary.
